Vernon’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and they were certainly blessed to have such a loving grandfather. He took particular pride in his job as managing editor and columnist at the Yazoo Herald. He taught Spanish at Clinton Public Schools and Yazoo City Public Schools, and was an Adjunct Professor at Mississippi College. Vernon’s impeccable work ethic was evident in his dedication to his job as an educator. He also held degrees from Mississippi College and Mississippi State University.
